{ engagement } shots

My mum and mum-in-law have been asking me for proper prints of our engagement and wedding photos for ages now (our engagement photos were taken mid last year!). So I thought I would finally get my act together & for Christmas I'm making them individual albums.

We were lucky enough to have Jonas Peterson take our engagement shots (click clack here to check out his site if you haven't already visited it!). I wore a sari for some of the shots (a nod to my Indian heritage) & it took us a little while to get over being self-conscious but overall it was a blast! Jonas worked his magic and we have amazing shots we'll treasure for life.

I've been married for 6 months now and I still pinch myself & wonder how I got so lucky to not only meet my husband but to get to spend the rest of my life with him. Definitely unbelievably blessed to have him in my life!

the { bride } didn't wear white

I promised posts about our wedding and I don't feel that I have delivered! So I thought I would share a few photos.

Seth and Tenielle from Feather and Stone were our photographers and if you clickty clack here you can check out their blog and read more about them.

the bride loves dark blue

I'm not one of those girls that wanted the big white wedding. If you looked under my bed you wouldn't find a stash of scrapbooks with 'Dream Wedding' scrawled across the front.
But I will confess that one of the things I enjoyed most about planning my wedding was figuring out the colours and styling with Susie Camp from Styled Events. We tossed around a lot of ideas and at the last minute (2 weeks before the wedding!) settled on navy table cloths, black tiffany chairs and mountains of candles. Claire designed the table numbers, which I had printed on white card and hung from the chairs with black ribbon. The pattern tied in with our wedding stationary.

There was very little white in sight and none of the decorations were typical choices but we loved the mood the muted blue tones created.

love & marriage

So lately i've been a little slack with blog posting. I have an excuse though – on 21 May I did something incredibly old fashioned. I tied the knot. Yes, I now have a husband. A quirky, auburn haired, Beatles loving, big hearted husband.

We are off on our honeymoon in a few weeks (more about that later) and until I head off I am going to try and do a few posts on some of the amazing contributors to our wedding, from the dress designer to the event stylists, to my fabulous cousins.

So hopefully you'll forgive me for the recent lack of blog posts. And I promise to post again soon :)

One long table...

A gf of mine just got married in Bali. Everything was perfect, from the beach setting to the petal covered aisle, but one of the best things about the decor was the one long table she had set up overlooking the beach.

Now my own wedding is not even on the cards, but the long table could also work for a summer barbeque or glamorous dinner party. Below are a couple of my faves:

I had saved these on my computer a while ago so no sources - let me know if they are yours!
