My Saturday afternoon project involved making my own exfoliant. It's the one product that has been missing from my beauty routine. And since we love all things chemical free here at Sweet Lime I thought I would try out a simple, all-natural recipe.
I made a little video to share the process - my video skills are sketchy but it was fun to give it a go!

Jaz, what a gorgeous little video! I don't know what you're talking about, you're skills are great :)
ReplyDeleteHome remedies rock, and the more we spread the message on DIY beauty the better, so thank you! I often use the almond pulp left over from home made almond milk as a whole body exfoliator as well

this was great! i loved your video technique! plus the soundtrack was perfect!
ReplyDeleteVery cute. And great idea! I have always wanted to do a video blog but am yet to get my act together to do one!
ReplyDeleteTara - thank you! it's my first go with doing a video and I'm super grateful for the feedback. And you're right about homemade remedies - I was about to pay $70 for an exfoliant (chemical free etc etc) which is pointless when you can make something at home for close to nothing that will do the same job!
ReplyDeleteLeah - I'm so glad you liked it! Hopefully there will be more to come!
Jaz - you should definitely try your hand at videos, I would love to see some done on the amazing things you cook!

Just curious, you had equal parts olive oil and brown sugar, but that didn't fill the jar. Sooooo, what did you fill the jar with? Did you just keep adding more sugar and olive oil till it topped up? Also, was the dash of lemon just for fragrance or does it "do something"?
ReplyDeleteI'm getting ready to start some vlogging so I'm thrilled to see others doing it as well.
Great job.
Thanks Jess! I used a little creative licence & added in extra sugar and olive oil at the end. The lemon is just for scent.

I am so making some, but I might switch the lemon at the end for lime - i just can't get enough of lime! :)
